Hi again visitors. Well, this time I talk to you because I saw a video yesterday about a new trend in Bangkok, Thailandia. It's about a group of young Thai men who love the lifestyle of Mexican gangsters. Yep, I know it is strange but when you realize the vast cultural diversity that may exist on our planet is when you realize that it's more common than you think. These Thai men like to wear the "simple and clean" style of Mexican gangs, but the funny thing is that none of them commits criminal activities. They are ordinary people who love Mexican gangster fashion and some aspects of daily life from them. Here, we are talking about a perfect example of appropriation of a foreign subculture as there are people who aren't Mexican or gangsters, however took the lifestyle that Mexicans gangsters have and seized him. At least, talking about clothes. What we can learn about this? Well, looking at these strange subcultures we realize that this world is very diverse and anything that seem very rare you can find in any part of this. We also realize that appropriation of another culture or subculture outside our culture is more normal than it seems. Actually I have nothing against it, I defend the comfort of the person and not their clothing or living, if a Thai feel good wearing and living like a Mexican gangster, then so be it.
I agree with you Edgardo. I think that we have to respect all the cultures that are around the world, especially this one that doesn’t cause any damage to the society or to the world.

ResponderBorrarHi! my first though about the article was that ^they are insane^ but, at the end of the reading I though that I couldn't find a reason to respect them. They enjoy dressing like “Gangs” and listen hip – hop and rap but, they don’t practice violence or are relate to drugs. So yes! I'm agree with you is more normal than it seems. this world is very diverse!
ResponderBorrarHi! I think we have to be respectful and tolerant with everyone. These Thai men only do the things that like and suit them, they never do bad things. So there is no reason to disrespect or discriminate people just for being different.
